Oberon is surrounded by forests and national parks, which makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers. One of the most famous attractions in the region is the Kanangra-Boyd National Park covering over 72,000 ha, which offers a range of activities, such as bushwalking, mountain biking, and sightseeing. The park boasts spectacular waterfalls, rugged mountains and valleys, and an abundance of wildlife that visitors can enjoy.

Oberon's rich history is celebrated in various museums throughout the region. The Oberon Museum, located in the town's center, covers the history of the town and surrounding areas with displays and artefacts dating back to the 1800s. The Tarana Rural Museum, located a short drive away, is a beautifully restored historic farmhouse, showcasing life and farming equipment from the early 1900s.

Cave exploration:
Explore the mysteries of the underground world by visiting the Yarrangobilly Caves. This limestone cave system has been open to the public since the early 1900s and features intricate calcite formations, underground rivers, and sparkling pools. Guided tours are available to help visitors navigate the twists and turns of the cave system.

Gardens and Nurseries:
The climate around Oberon is optimal for growing flowers and other plants, which is reflected in the numerous nurseries and gardens in the area. There is the Mayfield Garden, a paradise of 36 hectares spanning over multiple gardens such as the Water Garden, the Sunken Garden, the Creek Garden, the Birch Forest, the 6-acre Walled Kitchen Garden, the Chapel, and the Pantheon. Other famous gardens also include the Garden of St Erth, The Diggers Club, and Lewisham Gardens.
