LinkUp Australia

Linkup Australia began services in May 2018 and is a respected provider of NDIS disability services. Our organisation was established in response to the lack of suitably accessible housing and the limited choice of flexible, person-centred supports for people living with disability in the Northern Territory.

Our mission at Linkup Australia is to help people to live more independently by designing and delivering quality and innovative services that respond to the needs of the diverse communities we work with.
Our vision is that every Australian has every opportunity to live their best life, their way. We work towards our vision every day and do so through our complimentary and NDIS-funded disability services.

Distinguished and Famous people from Oberon

🔦 Jeremiah Wilson

Jeremiah Wilson became keeper of the caves now called Jenolan in 1867 and later established accommodation for visitors. His work joined guiding and exploration with the practical business of making a remote attraction accessible. The early lodging house preceded the better-known Caves House. Jenolan lies within Oberon Shire, giving Wilson a direct professional and residential connection to the district. His story also shows tourism becoming an organised occupation: somebody had to lead the party underground, look after the site and find somewhere for everyone to sleep afterwards.

🕯️ Frederick Wilson

Frederick Wilson followed his father Jeremiah into work at Jenolan and served as caretaker from 1896 to 1903. The family association links two generations with the changing management of a major cave reserve. Where Jeremiah’s career belonged to the beginnings of organised guiding and accommodation, Frederick’s tenure formed part of the later public administration of the attraction. Their shared surname can obscure that these were distinct careers. Remembering both helps give the caves’ human history a chronology, alongside the much longer geological history that brought visitors there in the first place.
